Leonidio aspires to become one of the most important climbing destinations of Greece. More than 1000 climbing routes with different levels of difficulty (grades) offered to challenge both beginners and extremely experienced lovers of the sport. Leonidio is surrounded from red and grey cliffs of exceptional quality and even thow is very close to the sea, the orientation of the cliffs and the climate of the region favor the dry, windless climbing all year long. The Municipal authorities and the residents of the region work hard in order to maintain the rocks in good condition, while experienced climbers open new routes continuously.
